Eco-friendly, pod-based brewer for coffee lovers
Bruvi is a Los Angeles startup formed by veterans from the coffee industry. Mel and Sung aim to revolutionize pod-based coffee with better product engineering and a science-based approach to the best tasting coffee brewing. Airline has worked with Bruvi in designing a machine that makes a great cup of coffee and has less environmental impact than competitors.

Eco-friendly, pod-based convenience without coffee flavor compromises.Keurig has managed to take 80% of the American single-serve market, but with compromises in taste, hygiene, and environmental impact. Bruvi wants to bring the convenience of single-serve brewing to coffee lovers with a lower impact on the environment.
From freehand sketches and cardboard models through to manufacturingThe final design was achieved through a constant collaboration between the teams at Airline, Bruvi and the factory. Over a period of over 3 years we worked closely through multiple rounds of product inspiration, concept development, sketching, user interface design, prototyping, design for manufacturing, and more to hone every detail of the design.
Careful attention to create a powerful but simple brewing user experienceQuick and easy handmade mockups were key in figuring out the brewer form and detailing high traffic interaction points. Prototypes advanced through cardboard, 3D printed, and shop-made until we’d arrived at the right design.
